- iDirect released SatManage 5.2, an upgrade to the company’s award-winning network management software. SatManage 5.2 is now compliant with Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements, a key US Department of Defense directive, which enables government customers to leverage the benefits of SatManage.
- ST Electronics increases equity stake in Telematics Wireless Ltdto 100%.
- ST Electronics launches anew AgilisManpack VSAT Terminal. The AgilisManpack operates in super high Ku-Band (13.75 GHz to 14.8GHz) and is one of the world’s smallest of its kind today. Measuring just 500L x 300W x 170H mm, it weighs just 10kg, lighter than any in the market.

- iDirect'siDX 3.0 software has received the Satellite Spotlight 2011 Product of the Year Award. iDX 3.0was a ground-breaking release for iDirect's IP satellite communications platform because of its SCPC Return Channel technology. The capability enabled service providers to manage TDMA and SCPC networks over the same platform for the first time ever.
- ST Electronics named CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award Honoreefor its DiskCrypt product. The award serves to recognise outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 32 product categories.
- ST Electronics wins a communications system contract for the Taichung City LRT CJ900/CJ907 Wuri-WenxinBeitun Line (Green Line) in Taiwan.
- ST Electronics, together with ST Marine has been awarded a contract to carry out upgrading works on the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)'s Landing Ship Tanks (LSTs). The LSTs were delivered to the RSN in 1999. The upgrading works will cover modifications to the platform, as well as upgrades to the combat systems and helicopter support facilities.
- ST Electronics to increase capacity with new facility. The new seven-storey building, expected to be ready in 2013, will be built on a 2 ha, 30 year leasehold land parcel near ST Electronics' HQ at Ang Mo Kio Street 65

- ST Electronics set up the Aircraft Instruments overhaul facility. The well-equipped facility with supporting stores provided hangar service and workshop service for all types of communication and navigational equipment on board aircraft
- ST Electronics decided to move into aviation electronics which was seen as a growing business in line with the lively offshore oil exploration activity. The avionics facility was opened in Seletar Airbase.

With Philips Industries of Australia as managing agents, the company starts operations with about 220 local staff and a dozen UK civilians and naval experts
