ST Electronics was conferred “The Best Managed Infrastructure Project Partner Award” Land Transport Excellence Awards 2010 by Land Transport Authority (LTA). The award recognises ST Electronics' and Alstom Transport's delivery of a world-class Turnkey Driverless Metro solution for the Singapore Circle Line. The project called for the delivery of the complete Electrical and Mechanical rail system requiring complex integration of various sub-systems, impeccable planning and utmost precision in meeting reliability and safety performances.
ST Electronics was, as part of the 12th Annual Safety Award Convention (ASAC), also conferred the Safety Achievement Award. This award recognises ST Electronics and Alstom Transport for excellent workplace safety and health (WSH) track record in the delivery of the E&M Systems and Trackworks for the Circle Line.
Presented by Institute of Engineering to ST Electronic (Info-Comm Systems) Pte Ltd. The "Accelerated Project Management and System Integration for Integrated Resort at Sentosa" was recognised for its engineering achievement that demonstrates outstanding engineering skills which has made a significant contribution to engineering progress and quality of life in Singapore.
DigiSAFE DiskCrypt Mobile : This award honours outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 36 categories. This award was won at the CES International 2010 exhibition in Las Vegas.
Awarded to ST Electronics (Satcom & Sensors Systems), the Minister for Defence Award is conferred on employers and civil resource (CR) owners who have clearly distinguished themselves in their support for Total Defence. This is the highest accolade that an employer or CR owner can achieve. In 2010, ten employers and CR owners were conferred the Minister for Defence Award.
The Distinguished Defence Partner Award was presented to companies that have shown outstanding support for Total Defence. In 2010, 101 companies received the Distinguished Defence Partner Award. Among them are ST Electronics’ subsidiaries; ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems), ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems), ST Electronics (e-Services), ST Electronics (Training & Simulation Systems), STELCOMMS and STELOP.
ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) was awarded the Meritorious Defence Partner Award which is presented to companies that have shown commendable support for Total Defence. A total of 213 companies received the Meritorious Defence Partner Award in 2010.
ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) was awarded the Cisco Gold Certified Partner. This certification recognises partners who meets rigorous standards for networking competency service, support and customer satisfaction set forth by Cisco.
ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) was presented the Gold Standard for Aerospace Supplier Excellence and the Silver Standard for Aerospace Innovation Leadership. The Aerospace Supplier Excellence Award is presented to aerospace suppliers that demonstrates the most outstanding supplier performance in the market while the Aerospace Innovation Leadership Award recognises companies that demonstrates innovative strategies that impact industry companies’ activities in the long term.
The Integrated Taxi Management System (cetrac® iCab), developed by ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) with ComfortDelgro, won the CIO Asia Magazine’s CIO Awards 2009. ST Electronics is honoured to be the technology partner of ComfortDelgro for this award-winning intelligent Taxi Booking and Despatch System.
The Singapore Aerospace Awards, organised by the Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore) (AAIS), are presented to key players and individuals in the industry for their professionalism, capabilities and innovations. ST Electronics was presented with the Gold Standard for Aerospace Supplier Excellence and the Silver Standard for Aerospace Innovation Leadership.
ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) was awarded the Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2009. This award was given in recognition of the innovation of its Expandable Mobile Command Hub.
ST Electronics and its subsidiaries were awarded the Distinguished Defence Partner Award 2009 and the Meritorious Defence Partner Award 2008. In 2007, ST Electronics was awarded the highest accolade of the Total Defence Awards – the Minister for Defence Award 2007. The award was conferred in recognition of ST Electronics' outstanding and consistent support and unwavering commitment towards the nation’s defence.
ST Electronics’ related US satellite communication company, VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect) received the 2008 and 2005 Teleport Technology of the Year Award from The World Teleport Association. The award is presented each year to the organisation whose technology has best contributed to the business and operational success of teleport operators through lower costs, increased efficiency, new capabilities or access to new markets. The award acknowledges the contributions of iDirect’s Intelligent Platform™ to the teleport industry. In particular, it recognises Group Quality of Service (QoS) and Global Network Management System (NMS) as two critical technologies that enable teleport operators to meet growing reliance on satellite communications to support critical applications around the globe.
ST Electronics was awarded the inaugural Land Transport Excellence Awards 2008 in the 'Most Innovative Partner (Technology)' category. This award was presented by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in recognition of ST Electronics' effort in developing i-Transport, which contributed towards Singapore's endeavour in achieving a world-class transportation system.
ST Electronics as a member of the Singapore Technologies Engineering Group, became the first public-listed company in Singapore to attain the Singapore Quality Award (SQA) in 2002. ST Engineering won the SQA on its first attempt as a Group and is one of only two companies in Singapore to attain the prestigious Singapore Quality Award (SQA) with Special Commendation in 2007.
The SQA is the pinnacle award conferred to organisations in Singapore in recognition of having attained world-class standards in business excellence. The SQA is recognised as one of the premier business excellence awards in the world, on par with the US Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the European Quality Award and the Australian Business Excellence Award.
The Harbour Craft Identification & Monitoring System (HMS) from ST Electronics won the Boat Asia Innovation Award 2007. Organised in conjunction with the Boat Asia 2007 exhibition held at Sentosa Cove, Singapore on 19 April 2007, this award recognises technical innovation that benefits the boating industry. HMS was selected for its innovative use of Global Positioning System (GPS) and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technologies to provide a cost effective and efficient solution that identifies, monitors and tracks vessels and harbour craft around coastal waters. This system was also credited for its export potential in other jurisdictions especially since homeland security has become a priority and focus of many countries.
ST Electronics was awarded the CRP 2007 (Congrès de la Radiocommunication Professionelle) Product Trophy in Paris for its SuperneT™ Radio Gateway ST2860. The CRP Product Trophy Award recognises innovation, added value, technology, generated savings, target market, ergonomic, flexibility and evolution capabilities. This award was organised in conjunction with the CRP 2007, a leading exhibition for Professional Mobile Radio in France.
ST Electronics and its customer ComfortDelGro jointly received the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2007 in recognition of ST Electronics’ cetrac® iCab solution for its contribution to the engineering progress in Singapore. The project, “CityNet II – The Next Generation Taxi Booking and Despatch System”, is a fully home-grown system that allows different taxi fleet companies to share a common system while maintaining their business independence and identity. The IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2007 was organised by the Singapore Institute of Engineers to recognise the outstanding achievements of engineers for engineering projects in Singapore. This recognises achievements that demonstrate outstanding engineering skills that have made a significant contribution to the engineering progress and quality of life in Singapore. CityNet II had also previously won the Singapore National Infocomm Awards 2006 (Merit) in the Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology (Private Sector) category.

Gold Certified Partners are recognised for having some of the industry's best trained network engineers with high levels of expertise in planning, designing, implementing and supporting Cisco network solutions. These awards represent a strong vote of confidence from Cisco Systems recognising ST Electronic' commitment in delivering world-class technical support and expertise, service and solutions to customers.
ST Electronics won the Best in Security Product Award presented by PC Professionell Test Labs at the Computex Taipei 2006 Expo. DiskCrypt was chosen from amongst many global brands after several days of live tests conducted by an industry expert panel. PC Professional is one of Europe's top IT magazines with a test centre in Munich evaluating computing products. DiskCrypt, which protects data stored in the hard disk of notebooks, comes with a KeyCrypt token for strong two-factors authentication and was declared a winner in the hardware mobility product category.
ST Electronics’ i-Transport System was awarded the coveted Singapore National Infocomm Awards 2006 (Merit) - Most Innovative Infocomm Product/Service Category. The award was jointly organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF). It represents the highest accolade for infocomm innovation in Singapore. With support from the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA), i-Transport was developed and successfully implemented to fully integrate existing Intelligent Transport Solutions (ITS) in Singapore into a unified, intelligent and interactive operations platform. This system has provided operational synergy and resource optimisation to LTA and significant benefits to road users.
ST Electronics, together with the Land Transport Authority was awarded the Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2004 by the Institution of Engineers Singapore. This was in recognition of the development of the i-Transport System, a highly intelligent and autonomous system that integrates the various intelligent transportation sub-systems. It is an interactive and unified operation platform designed to increase operational efficiency, taking traffic management to a higher level.
One major innovation of the i-Transport is the deployment of Expert System Inference techniques to automate decision support for traffic management. This helps reduce operator response time in restoring traffic flow to normal conditions during traffic incidents.
The implementation of i-Transport enhances operational effectiveness, co-ordination with public safety agencies, as well as road safety and efficiency for road users.
ST Electronics was awarded the Associate of the Arts Award by the National Arts Council, Singapore for its support of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. This award was instituted in 1999 to recognise corporations and individuals for their contributions towards the development of the Arts in Singapore.
The team, comprising members from the ST Electronics, STELOP and the Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA), won the award for adapting military technology in a creative way in developing the Infra-red Fever Screening System (IFss) which was used worldwide as the frontline defence against SARS during the outbreak in 2003.
Annually, 25 outstanding individuals or teams around the world are honoured for their pioneering work that benefit society through the use/development of new technologies. Five awards are given in each of the five categories : Health, Education, Equality, Economic Development and Environment. In 2004, some 320 applications were submitted from 80 countries.
Hangzhou Modern City project won the national Zhan Tian You Award from the Institute of Civil Engineering under the Ministry of Construction, China. The Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Prize is jointly awarded by the China Civil Engineering Society and the Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Science and Technology Fund to encourage technical innovation and development in civil engineering. The Hangzhou Modern City Central Area (Phase 1) Intelligent Community project is ST Electronics (Shanghai)’s first intelligent community project comprising the meticulous design of integrated and intelligent security management systems, home automation system, communication systems and automated property management system. ST Electronics (Shanghai) was officially awarded in December 2003 the design and construction of the Hangzhou Modern City Central Area (Phase 2).
ST Electronics is part of the Singapore Technologies Engineering Group that won the Singapore Innovation Awards – Innovative Organisation of the Year 2003. This award from SPRING Singapore recognises and celebrates organisations with exceptional capability success. The assessment is based on an Innovation scorecard that focuses on four key areas — Conditions, Culture, Competencies and Connectivity.
The Infrared Fever Screening System (IFss), jointly developed by ST Electronics, Chartered Electro-Optics Pte Ltd and the Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA), was named as one of the ‘Coolest Invention of the Year’ by Times Magazine in November 2003. ST Electronics now joins the ranks of world renowned innovative companies in Time Magazine’s annual listing of the world’s best inventions.
ST Electronics’ technology solutions that were developed to help the nation combat SARS in 2003 had also caught the eyes of the IES (Institute of Engineers, Singapore) and won both the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award 2003 (AOEAA) and the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2003 (IESPEAA) for its project – “SARS – Combating Innovations: IFss & C-T&T." C-T&T refers to a Contact Track & Trace solution, a joint effort by ST Electronics and DSTA to develop a more efficient means of tracking visitor movements in a hospital through the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.
ST Electronics won the DTP Engineering Team Award 2003 jointly with Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) for the Enterprise Command & Control Information System project. Together, they have innovatively used information technology towards efficient assets and information management.
The Defence Technology Prize (DTP) Team Award 2002 was received for the joint development of “Air Command and Control Hub” project by DSTA, Republic of Singapore Air Forces, DSO National Laboratories and ST Electronics.
ST Electronics (Taiwan) was awarded the 2002 Business Excellence Award by The Finance Department of the Taipei City Government.
ST Electronics is among the pioneer batch of companies to be awarded the PSB People Developer Standard.
The People Developer Standard by the Productivity & Standards Board is to human resource development what ISO 9000 is to quality management for organisations. It sets a standard for organisations as a benchmark and provides guidelines for implementing an effective system for staff training and development. The standard offers organisations a systematic process for reviewing human resource practices and developing the potential of their staff.

ST Electronics has been certified to the ISO 9001:2000 standard on January 2002. This certification is another milestone achievement by ST Electronics in maintaining the robustness of its quality system and processes. It also reflects the readiness of the company to react to any change in global requirements for its products and services.
ST Electronics obtained the ISO14001 Environmental Health & Safety Management and OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management certification. This certification is given to organisations that have successfully managed occupational health and safety performance risks while improving performance.
