BT Latam Colombia Selects iDirect Platform To
Support Government Initiative
To Connect National Housing Bureaus

Network to speed data integration, unite remote facilities stationed across Colombia

Herndon, Va., June 30, 2008 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited’s (ST Electronics) related US satellite communication company, VT iDirect Inc. (iDirect), today announced that its satellite communications platform was chosen by BT Latam Colombia to support a high-speed IP satellite network that will enable the Colombian government to improve the collection and management of real estate property records. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.  ST Electronics is the electronics arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd.

BT Latam Colombia, a division of BT Group plc and a leading provider of communications services in Latin America, will manage a network of more than 60 iDirect iNFINITI 3100 Series Satellite Routers installed throughout Colombia.  The new network will bring broadband connectivity to local government bureaus located beyond the reach of terrestrial lines, better enabling remote agency offices to integrate time-sensitive information directly into the country’s national property database.  Longer term, the Colombian government plans to expand the use of the network to support VoIP and Web access applications for remote offices.
