iDirect, To Showcase DVB-S2/ACM Platform Demo At CABSAT 2008 Conference And Exhibition

Singapore, 4 March 2008 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited’s (ST Electronics) US satellite communication company, iDirect Inc. (iDirect) today announced that it will demonstrate the capabilities of its Evolution DVB-S2/ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation) platform at the CABSAT 2008 Conference and Exhibition. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.

The capabilities of iDirect’s Evolution DVB-S2/ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation) platform was recently validated for market release through a series of commercial tests. Attendees will see a live demonstration of the commercial version of iDirect’s Evolution DVB-S2/ACM platform, which comprises a new line of DVB-S2/ACM remotes and line cards as well as advanced operating and network management software.

The commercial launch of the Evolution platform is highly anticipated as many of the MEA region’s top satellite operators and communications service providers have standardized their operations on iDirect’s technology. As satellite capacity has grown more constrained, the ability of the iDirect platform to connect to multiple satellites, support any topology or application and increase bandwidth efficiency has especially enabled iDirect customers to reduce capital and operating experience, and increase their business opportunities.

According to Frost & Sullivan, iDirect has outpaced the industry to become the leading provider of IP-based satellite networks in the MEA region with a 40 percent market share in hub sales.

In the past year, iDirect has significantly strengthened its presence in the MEA region with a surge in hub sales and the opening of our new MEA headquarters in Dubai.
