Latest NewsFebruary 2008ST Electronics @ Singapore Aerospace 2008 Launches New Solutions Singapore, 18 February 2008 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) will feature three new solutions at this year’s Singapore Airshow 2008 (19 – 24 February):
{Please refer to the separate respective news releases for further details on the above three new solutions from ST Electronics.} A quick snapshot of the full complement of exhibits from ST Electronics showcased at Singapore Airshow 2008 is provided below for your information. Please refer to the Fact Sheet attached for further information. ADVANCED COMBATMAN SYSTEM (ACMS)
COMMUNICATIONS AND SATCOM SYSTEMS/SOLUTIONS One of ST Electronics’ key exhibits, the Satcom-On-The Move (SOTM) is an innovative satellite communication antenna. It is designed to serve users with a wide range of communication applications while on the move or stationery from inside a vehicle. Fixed onto the roof of a vehicle, it turns the vehicle into an in-car satellite communication terminal, enabling users to get Internet access, email, data, video transfers, voice applications and more. Broadband Wireless Communication — VSAT, Modems, Hubs and RoutersST Electronics and iDirect Broadband VSAT Hub Routers and Terminals offer the solution for the most cost-effective and reliable broadband business-class IP Solution over satellite. ST Electronics integrates IP routing capability and application prioritisation optimised for satellite transmission, with business-class reliability and performance. It is fast and flexible and can be deployed anywhere. ST Electronics’ satellite modems are innovatively developed solutions capable of operating in three different modes, namely, CDMA, IESS and PSK. Operating in a spread spectrum waveform, which differentiates it from the rest in the market, these can operate in an interference scenario and also reduce the interference from adjacent satellites which make it adaptable to the dynamic and diversified communication environments. ST Electronics’ Agilis Series of BUCs (Block-Up Converters) transceivers and Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA) are highly cost effective outdoor equipment transmitters for satellite communication. Easy to install, they are redundancy-ready and field-proven for any harsh operating environment. These BUCs are suitable for both data and voice communication operating in different modulation formats including BPSK, QPSK, QAM and FM. The Agilis Transceivers are highly cost effective for satellite communication, designed for voice, data and broadband VSAT communication operating in different modulation formats. The SSPA offers microwave power amplification at satellite hubs and remote terminals with high RF power and gain stability for uplink applications. It is highly linear with guaranteed P1dB output power suitable for multi-carriers operation. The Eurocom IP Multiplexer enables Internet Protocol (IP) capabilities over legacy Eurocom-based trunked communications system. It is inserted between the Tactical Access Switch (TAS) and the tactical radio. It allows the Eurocom B input data stream to be multiplexed with 10/100 Base-T Internet input to give a Eurocom B output to be connected to the radio. Vice versa, an Eurocom B input received from the radio will be de-mulitplexed into an Eurocom B and a 10/100 Base-T Internet output. ST Electronics will also be showcasing a range of systems and solutions that will enhance the command, communications, security and information sharing needs of organisations at Singapore Airshow 2008.
