ST Electronics Develops New C-130 Part Task Trainer

Singapore, 18 February 2008 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) will showcase its new generation of C-130 Part Task Trainer at the Singapore Airshow 2008 (19 – 24 February 2008).  The C-130 Part Task Trainer is modelled after the C-130 Engineering Flight Simulator which ST Electronics’ subsidiary, ST Electronics (Training & Simulation Systems) Pte Ltd, has supplied to Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for its training needs.

The system prepares trainees to handle avionics and radar work in the airline industry.  When integrated with a six-degree-of-freedom electric motion system, the C-130 Part Task Trainer is capable of replicating the actual movements of a real aircraft.  With a modular architecture for flexible configuration of instruments and sub-systems, the system is a cost effective solution that allow trainees to appreciate and understand the effects and consequences of various aircraft operation and behaviour.

The C-130 Part Task Trainer is also equipped with high fidelity weather radar that is capable of representing storm cells and clouds realistically with dynamic movements arising from various weather effects. The system can also be upgraded and configured for other types of aircraft, such as AWACS (Airborne Warning And Control System) to provide a Command, Control, Communications Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) integrated training.

We have developed state-of-the-art simulation systems for more than two decades.  These solutions enable our customers to train their staff and operators in a cost-effective manner. We continually invest in the research and development of cutting edge simulation technologies.  The C-130 Part Task Trainer is yet another of our solutions that attest to our dedication, experience and capability in simulation training.
