Latest NewsOctober 2007ST Electronics Wins S$15m Bangladesh Bank Project Singapore, 25 October 2007 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) Pte Ltd, has won a project worth about S$15m to provide a local and wide area network infrastructure and system for Bangladesh Bank. Bangladesh Bank is currently implementing the Central Bank Strengthening Project with financial assistance from the World Bank. This contract award is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year. ST Electronics will supply and implement the local and wide area network infrastructure for the bank over a period of 12 months, beginning November this year. The project will also require ST Electronics to train the bank’s staff on usage and maintain the infrastructure and network systems for a period of six years. ST Electronics had competed successfully against international players to win this contract. This is the first World Bank project for ST Electronics. The wide area network will connect ten locations in Bangladesh’s major cities and will form the backbone of the Central Bank’s upcoming administrative and financial applications. Various subsystems like power generators, cooling and humidity control, physical access, fire protection and camera surveillance will also be deployed to safeguard the critical infrastructure and network systems of the Central Bank for optimal business operating environment.
