ST Electronics is the electronics arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Limited. Both partners will complement each others technological capabilities to jointly research and develop new technologies in Interactive Media, in particular the domains of Simulation, Animation, Games and Edutainment (SAGE). To further bring value to the partnership, these new technologies will then be jointly exploited commercially through licensing and distribution. Founded in 1956, CASIA is the first Chinese governmental research organisation in the field of automation. It focuses on three major R&D directions - complex information processing, complex systems control, and integrated systems, which are all of importance to the area of intelligence technology. STEE-T&S develops, manufactures and markets advanced computer graphic software and solutions for simulation, visualisation and various industry applications. The company is also a key player in the area of digital animation and games development. It will undertake this collaboration through its Centre of Interactive Media, an operation that is supported by the Interactive Digital Media office (IDM) of the Media Development Authority of Singapore.
