Contract valued at around US$500,000 expands iDirect’s presence in China, strengthens position in global oil and gas industry

Singapore, 30 July 2007 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited’s (ST Electronics) US satellite communication company, iDirect Inc. (iDirect) today announced a contract win valued at around US$500,000 from CrossSat Telecom Technology Co. Ltd. (CrossSat), a major independent oil and gas exploration group based in China. CrossSat has purchased an iDirect iNFINITI universal 5IF satellite hub and 60 iDirect remote satellite routers to create a global IP network supporting both Ku and C satellite bands. ST Electronics is the electronics arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering).

CrossSat will provide satellite connectivity to multiple Chinese oil and gas companies, whose operations span China, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. The CrossSat network will support seismic exploration and drilling applications on both terrestrial and offshore drilling platforms. Initial customers include the China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), the nation’s largest oil and gas company.

The contract increases iDirect’s presence in China and bolsters its position as a leader in the oil and gas industry worldwide.

With iDirect’s technology, CrossSat can leverage a single platform to connect to multiple satellites and support any satellite band. This greatly expands the market that we can serve and enables us to meet the diverse needs of the oil and gas industry in China and around the world.
