ST Engineering’s Electronics Arm Awarded
Radar & Communications Systems Contracts From Maritime And Port Authority

Singapore, 19 July 2007 — Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced that its electronics arm, Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) has been awarded contracts worth approximately S$3.8m from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). These contracts provide for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of state-of-the-art, high performance Vessel Traffic Radars to replace the existing MPA’s radars, and the provision of comprehensive maintenance of its Vessel Traffic Information System (VTIS).

These contract awards are not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.

The radar replacement contract, which will be completed in 2008, was awarded to ST Electronics’ subsidiary, ST Electronics (Satcom & Sensor Systems) Pte Ltd. In winning this contract, ST Electronics had competed successfully against international players from Norway, UK and Singapore.

The contract will involve the removal of old radars, installation of new radars, as well as integration with the existing VTIS. It will meet the challenges of a tight delivery schedule, logistics of delivering heavy equipment and services to various sites as well as the integration of the new radar systems with the existing VTIS.
