ST Engineering’s Electronics Arm Secures MINDEF Electro-Optics Maintenance Contract

Singapore, 26 March 2007 — Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced that its electronics arm, Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics), has been awarded a five-year contract of about $20m by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) to provide maintenance of electro-optics equipment and systems used by the Singapore Army, Navy and Air Force.  The contract was awarded to ST Electronics’ subsidiary, STELOP Pte Ltd.

The award of this contract is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.

STELOP’s capabilities in electro-optics and thermal imaging solutions will assist the SAF to ensure that their systems are fully ready for deployment at all times.  Our track record in providing systems as well as the support and service for our systems and solutions to the SAF has made ST Electronics a trusted partner offering the SAF the convenience of a single source provider of both EO products and maintenance services across the whole defence force.
