ST Electronics Showcases Its
Mobile Command & Communication Centre @ GSA 2007
Singapore, 27 March 2007 — ST Electronics will be showcasing the Mobile Command & Communication Centre at GSA2007.
Mobile Command & Communication Centres complement the main static command centre and provides on-site support and direct management of emergencies and incidents. Mobile Command & Communication Centres are highly sought after by emergency response agencies for crises and incidents management. ST Electronics has delivered similar systems to various public safety organisations in several countries.
The Mobile Command & Communication Centre comprises a number of subsystems and solutions. This centralised information hub facilitates critical decision-making and action planning. Its powerful communication systems such as the SuperneT™ Emergency Integrated Communication System ST2800, satellite and GPS systems allow all necessary information to be piped in and analysed. This provides the commander an overall view of all elements to plan and manage incidents. An automated eNotification System will rapidly activate emergency personnel to support the mission via both voice and text-based notifications.
The FLAMES and the 3D realtime Combosense Systems monitor any fire hazards and plan for emergency scenarios. FLAMES’ resource monitoring and tracking capabilities provides information from sensory input collected on-site facilitating proper management of the situation and resources. The built-in plume modelling capability in the 3D modelling engine assesses possible chemical or fire dispersion threats.
ST Electronics’ Intelligent Building Management Systems is able to interface with it Mobile Command & Communication Centre to provide information such as structural and internal layouts, access routes, locations and information on equipment. This can be done through wireless means or on-site infrastructural-implemented wired taps. This enables commanders to analyse the ground situation for deployment of critical rescue or evacuation resources.
More information can also be received from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Communicating through high bandwidth wireless means, images from cameras and video devices will provide bird’s-eye view of the site.
Harbour Craft Identification & Monitoring System, i-TranSec and iScan are three other systems that complete the suite of solutions of the Mobile Command & Communication Centre. These provide emergency and incident management capabilities in incidents that occur at sea, on roads and along critical border installations - tracking and monitoring resources, such as ships and vessels, vehicular flow and traffic volume, coastal and border surveillance. With these, the Mobile Command & Communication Centre can handle all scenarios and in any terrain.
ST Electronics’ SatCom on the Move (SOTM) terminal is designed for serving users with wide range of communication applications while on the move or stationary from inside a vehicle. When the system is fixed on the roof top of a vehicle, the vehicle gets transformed into an in-car satellite communication terminal, enabling the users to get internet access, email transfers, file transfers, global voice calls and video transfers along with many other voice, data and video applications.
With video and 3D modelling overlays synchronised and integrated from all these systems, the Mobile Command & Communication Centre is able to provide in-depth analysis with complete perspectives.
All these systems work seamlessly to provide the Mobile Command & Communication Centre with critical realtime information feed for decisive action.
