Latest NewsJune 2006ST Electronics Awarded A Contract For Its Newly Launched Singapore, 20 June 2006 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Ltd (ST Electronics) today announced that it has sealed an agreement to provide solutions for SingTel’s satcom services through its subsidiary ST Electronics (Satcom & Sensor Systems) Pte Ltd. ST Electronics is the electronics arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering). The system for SingTel is a newly launched satellite communication solutions for the Asian market. It will see ST Electronics delivering and implementing an iDirect hub, stabilised antenna and remote equipment to support the roll out of high speed satellite networks offering voice, data, and Internet access services. SingTel, Asia’s leading communications company, will use the solution to offer satellite communications services to its customers. By combining and integrating the strengths and product lines of ST Electronics’ satcom solutions under its Agilis and iDirect brands ST Electronics now delivers a wider, comprehensive range of a robust and niche satellite communication solutions to its customers.
Exhibiting at CommunicAsia 2006, ST Electronics will showcase a complete end-to-end satcom solution which includes very small aperture terminals and network solutions as well as satellite-based broadband access solutions. The company also enjoys the synergy from the strength of ST Electronics competent system design and solutioning capabilities and its market presence in Asia.
