ST Electronics wins DTP Award

Singapore, 7 November 2008 — ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) Pte Ltd was awarded the Defence Technology Prize (DTP) 2008 for Team Engineering. This prize was awarded jointly to ST Electronics, the Defence Science and Technology Agency and the Republic of Singapore Air Force, whose members formed the Air Power Generation Command and Control Information System team. The prize was presented by the Minister of Defence Teo Chee Hean.

The DTP, a national level award, is Ministry of Defence of Singapore's most prestigious award to recognise outstanding contributions in defence science and technology to enhance Singapore's defence capability. It serves to motivate excellence in defence science and technology and is given out annually. This is ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems)’ fifth DTP award.

The Air Power Generation Command and Control Information System provides the airforce with exact information on the exact time and place to deploy its resources to support the army and navy. The joint team designed a computer program with the knowledge of the complex logistical tasks. The system is capable of instantly calculating the number of officers that are needed and the kind of support that is required.
