Organised by several academic institutions and media in China, this prestigious award recognises distinguished Chinese nationals and overseas Chinese who have made exceptional contributions in their respective international economic, social and business arenas. Innovation Award at Boat Asia 2007Harbour Craft Identification & Monitoring System (HMS) from ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) won the Boat Asia Innovation Award 2007. Organised in conjunction with Boat Asia 2007 exhibition held at Sentosa Cove on 19 April 2007, this award recognises technical innovation that benefits the boating industry. HMS was selected for its innovative use of Global Positioning System (GPS) and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technologies to provide a cost effective and efficient solution that identifies, monitors and tracks vessels and harbour craft around coastal waters. This system was also credited for its export potential in other jurisdictions especially since homeland security has become a priority and focus of many countries. CRP 2007 (Congres de la Radiocommunication Professionelle) Product TrophyST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) was awarded the CRP 2007 (Congres de la Radiocommunication Professionelle) Product Trophy in Paris for its SuperneT™ Radio Gateway ST2860. The CRP Product Trophy Award recognises innovation, added value, technology, generated savings, target market, ergonomic, flexibility and evolution capabilities. This award was organised in conjunction with the CRP 2007, a leading exhibition for Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) in France. International Management Action Award 2007Mr Seah Moon Ming, President of ST Electronics, was one of the three outstanding managers who were conferred the International Management Action Award (IMAA) administered by the Chartered Management Institute. The IMAA is an international award to recognise outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional ability in taking management action to achieve sustainable, tangible results for an organisation, society and nation. IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2007ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) and its customer ComfortDelGro jointly received the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2007in recognition of ST Electronics’ cetrac® iCab solution for its contribution to the engineering progress in Singapore. The project, “CityNet II – The Next Generation Taxi Booking and Despatch System”, is a fully home-grown system that allows different taxi fleet companies to share a common system while maintaining their business independence and identity. The IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2007 was organised by the Singapore Institute of Engineers to recognise the outstanding achievements of engineers for engineering projects in Singapore. The DigiSAFE DiskCrypt was named the Best in Security Product Award by PC Professionell Test Labs at the Computex Taipei 2006 Expo. The winner was chosen amongst many global brands after several days of live tests at the show by the industry expert panel. DiskCrypt is designed and developed by DigiSAFE Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of ST Electronics. DigiSAFE Pte Ltd has been renamed ST Electronics (Info-Security) Pte Ltd in January 2007. DiskCrypt was declared the winner in the hardware mobility product category which protects the data stored in the notebook's hard disk, and comes with KeyCrypt token for strong 2-factors authentication. |

ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) Pte Ltd — formerly known as CET Technologies Pte Ltd, together with the Land Transport Authority was awarded the Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2004 by the Institution of Engineers Singapore. This was in recognition of the development of the i-Transport System, a highly intelligent and autonomous system that integrates the various intelligent transportation sub-systems. It is an interactive and unified operation platform designed to increase operational efficiency, bringing traffic management to a higher level. |

One major innovation of the i-Transport is the deployment of Expert System Inference techniques to automate decision support for traffic management. This helps reduce operator response time in restoring traffic flow to normal conditions during traffic incidents. The implementation of the “i-Transport” enhances operational effectiveness, co-ordination with public safety agencies, as well as road safety and efficiency for road users. |

The team, comprising members from the ST Electronics, Chartered Electro-Optics and Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA), won the award for adapting military technology in a creative way in developing the Infra-red Fever Screening System (IFss) which was used worldwide as the frontline defence against SARS during the outbreak in 2003.
Annually, the Tech honours 25 outstanding individuals or teams around the world for their pioneering work to benefit society through the use/development of new technologies. Five awards are given in each of the five categories : Health, Education, Equality, Economic Development and Environment. This year, some 320 applications were submitted from 80 countries.
Hangzhou Modern City project won the national Zhan Tian You Award from the Institute of Civil Engineering under the Ministry of Construction, China. The Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Prize is jointly awarded by the China Civil Engineering Society and the Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Science and Technology Fund to encourage technical innovation and development in civil engineering. The Hangzhou Modern City Central Area (Phase 1) Intelligent Community project is ST Electronics (Shanghai)’s first intelligent community project comprising the meticulous design of integrated and intelligent security management systems, home automation system, communication systems and automated property management system. ST Electronics (Shanghai) was officially awarded in December 2003 the design and construction of the Hangzhou Modern City Central Area (Phase 2).
ST Electronics is part of the Singapore Technologies Engineering Group that won the Singapore Innovation Awards – Innovative Organisation of the Year 2003. This award from SPRING Singapore recognises and celebrates organisations with exceptional capability success. The Infrared Fever Screening System (IFss), jointly developed by ST Electronics, Chartered Electro-Optics Pte Ltd and the Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA), was named as one of the ‘Coolest Invention of the Year’ by Times Magazine in November 2003. ST Electronics now joins the ranks of world renowned innovative companies in Time Magazine’s annual listing of the world’s best inventions.
ST Electronics’ technology solutions that were developed to help the nation combat SARS in 2003 had also caught the eyes of the IES (Institute of Engineers, Singapore) and won both the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award 2003 (AOEAA) and the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2003 (IESPEAA) for its project – “SARS – Combating Innovations: IFss & C-T&T." (C-T&T refers to a Contact Track & Trace solution, a joint effort by ST Electronics and DSTA to develop a more efficient means of tracking visitor movements in a hospital through the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.
ST Electronics’ wholly owned subsidiary, ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) Pte Ltd — formerly known as SES Systems Pte Ltd, won the DTP Engineering Team Award 2003 jointly with Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) for the Enterprise Command & Control Information System project. Together, they have innovatively used information technology towards efficient assets and information management.
The Defence Technology Prize (DTP) Team Award 2002 was received for joint development of “Air Command and Control Hub” project by DSTA, Republic of Singapore Air Forces, DSO National Laboratories and ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) Pte Ltd — formerly known as SES Systems Pte Ltd.
ST Electronics (Taiwan) was awarded the 2002 Business Excellence Award by The Finance Department of the Taipei City Government.
