Following closely in the footsteps of the MAPS (Maritime, Aviation and Port Security) Solution which was launched in 2004, ST Electronics’ new Homeland Security Solutions will address the security needs of critical and key installations such as airports, oil refineries, border checkpoints, etc. While MAPS was an integrated security solution to counter “New Terrorism” for Ports around the world, ST Electronics Homeland Security Solutions will address the specific needs for security in the areas of :

FomGuard ST9100 is an intrusion detection system designed to protect important facilities. When it detects an intrusion, FomGuard will generate audible alarm and pinpoint the exact intrusion spot on the visual display. FomGuard is based on Fibre Optic Mesh Sensor and Optical Radar Technology.
Apart from offering extremely low false alarms, FomGuard can detect all possibilities of intrusion including by digging into the ground to climbing over the fences. As surveillance conditions and environment is varied dependent on weather condition and ground condition, FOMGuard has been designed to allow for accurate detection despite these variations. FOMGuard offers false alarm-free surveillance, foolproof detection, location accuracy within ±15m, applicability unlimited by fence type and terrain conditions, anti-digging method, minimal maintenance, extended CCTV camera spacing and input sensors are also incorporated.
The Urban Operations Training System is a comprehensive training solution integrating the latest hardware and software components. The system comprises surveillance hardware and software applications that include After Action Review, Planning, Briefing/Debriefing, Mission Rehearsal tools to form an integrated training solution.
Components also include the Smart Eye which is an omni-directional smart imaging
system that provides a continuous omni-directional coverage with a single sensor.
It also includes an automatic video motion detection software. The Smart Eye
can be connected to every PC, turning them into an advanced monitoring and
surveillance system.

CORIS is a low cost, compact and lightweight thermal imaging camera developed
especially for homeland security applications, namely: SWAT, police force,
security professionals and search & rescue responders.
It utilises a 320x240 uncooled microbolometer focal plane array (FPA) to detect heat signature through darkness, rain, dust, smoke and fog. Its low power design enables continuous operations of up to 8 hours.
CORIS has heat sensitivity of <0.1 degree Celsius thereby enabling it to detect human sized target up to 600m. It can be supplied in either RS170 or CCIR video standard format. Its selections cover between manual or automatic gain, level control and video white or black hot. External communication via RS232 enables the sight to be remotely controlled.

SuperneT™ ST2800 Emergency Integrated Communication System (EICS) is ideal for Emergency Service, Public Safety, and Military Command and Control Communications. Due to its distributed and redundancy architecture, this feature-rich system is cost-effective and designed for ease of operation and ensures high survivability and availability.
It addresses operational needs for integration of disparate systems to deliver
a complete suite of voice, data and multi-media services to fixed and mobile
user terminals. EICS facilitates interoperability between different agencies
to achieve closer co-ordination and faster response during disasters. It also
enables interconnectivity between remote command centres to share resources
and information.
Based on Voice over IP (VoIP) and Radio over IP (RoIP) technologies, EICS is
easily scalable and expandable to extend its services remotely over the network.
As EICS adopts open standard interfaces and protocols, it facilitates integration
of the various COTS and application specific communication systems that include:
digital/analogue trunk and conventional radio systems – eg, 911/999 emergency
telephony system; GSM/3G cellular systems; messaging systems; video conferencing
and streaming systems, etc.
The EICS can be installed in Fixed Command Centres for emergency calls despatching,
co-ordinating and monitoring. The system can also be deployed in Integrated
Mobile Command & Communication Vehicles and networked to provide wider
service coverage.
iShield is a security, safety surveillance and response system for high-value installations. It comprises a suite of four modules - Security, Field Surveillance, Command and Control, and Alerting. It offers an enhanced resource tracking and status monitoring solution which allows for early detection of dangerous situations and can help to prevent industrial incidents or mitigate such incidents should they occur. The modular structure of iSHIELD allows the entire system to be implemented as a whole or integrated with existing equipment eg. sensors. This provides flexibility both in terms of implementation and cost of deployment.
iShield provides continuous surveillance of facility security and safety through its Security and Field Surveillance modules. The former deters and detects potential intrusions and the latter gives early warning for major toxic chemical leaks and other hazardous situations. Our team of specialists will provide recommendations as to where the sensors and detectors should be strategically placed to optimise detection.
iShield Command and Control module features include sophisticated situation,
environment and consequence analysis as well as automatic generation of recommended
actions and tracking of incident response plans. This module is linked to a
Future Responder System (FRS) which is a wearable computer system for the response
team.
The FRS is deployed in the frontline to track the location and status of each
responder and transmits all relevant data (eg. chemical levels, ambient temperature)
digitally back to the Control Centre to provide improved situational awareness.
The iShield Alert module enables rapid wide-scale notification (eg. automated
SMS) and tracking of acknowledgment status; hence, doing away with the need
for manual notification of key personnel.
DigiSAFE® offers a high speed IP encryptor that provides enterprises with secure and cost effective site-to-site or server-to-network communication over standard IP network. With the throughput of 200Mbps, it has the high capacity to perform data, images and voice transfer over a corporate network or Internet while securing critical network resources against unauthorised access.
During crisis, multiple state agencies are usually involved and these include agencies that undertake rescue and evacuation, command and control. These responses will require decision support systems that provide greater options for close co-ordination.
The Integrated Mobile Command & Communication Vehicles serve as self-contained command posts or planning centres where round-the-clock crisis management planning can take place at the incident sites.
Designed to provide reliable, integrated communications and effective operations on-site, these mobile command posts are equipped with state-of-the-art communication systems, catering for multi-agencies communication inter-operability as well as video, audio and data communications from the incident sites. This range of command vehicles include the Expandable Command & Communication Vehicle (ECV) and Forward Command Vehicle (FCV), both of which can be deployed and set-up quickly within minutes on-site. The ECV and FCV are robust for all-weather operations.
Designed to work with Intelsat’s constellation of C-Band satellites globally, the revolutionary miniV enables high-speed data and voice services on a lightweight and micro-sized VSAT terminal. Believed to be the smallest in the world of its kind, the miniV presents a full range of value-added services such as concurrent voice and data transfer, voicemail and SMS. These are in addition to the standard range of application enhancements supporting data-casting as well as bandwidth-and-cost management together with service level agreements. miniV not only permits portability, but also enables corporate users to inexpensively extend their networks to remote locations. All services typically found within a corporate LAN or WAN are also available to remote miniV users. These services may include Virtual Private Networks, Remote PABX functionality and typical supplementary services.

EXPERTS is an automated simulation system designed to train multidisciplinary teams assembled ad-hoc in order to manage a crisis situation. The system serves as a training tool (classroom environment) for crisis management teams to improve their responses during actual crisis management process, thereby reducing the duration of the crisis and minimising the damage it will cause, examine/review operational plans intended to serve as “protective walls” if and when disaster strikes, and develop doctrines and operating procedures for organizations whose functions are vital and critical to crisis management, such as rescue, medical and fire-fighting services.

Weighing less than 50kg, the PSRS is one of the lightest and most portable
radar of its kind. It is designed for deployment in multiple arrays with continuous
overlapping coverage to monitor and secure a designated area of intrusion.
It provides an automated perimeter security for encampments, installations,
equipment, and other high value permanent or temporary sites. Capable of detecting
both moving and stationary objects (up to 300m), the PSRS’ very unique
feature is its ability to detect crawlers, hence differentiating itself from
other similar radar of its class!
It even has networking features, each unit is GPS-enabled, allowing up to 24
PSRS units to link up to one single system. Its easy-to-use and self-calibrating

Mosaic is a fully integrated Coastal Surveillance System specially designed for coastal surveillance to detect illegal vessels. Mosaic is suitable for coastal surveillance to detect illegal vessels and can be used to supplement other coastal/vessel traffic radar surveillance system as an emergency back up radar system. It can also be use as a gap filler system for areas not covered by coastal radar surveillance system.

Mobile Coastal Surveillance is an all-in-one system (radar, EOD & VSAT) that is ergonomically packed into a mobile shelter on a trailer or other vehicles and is powered by a diesel generator towed behind the trailer. It is specially designed for rapid deployment to any terrain or remote sites as the mobile shelter can be hoisted and transported by a helicopter or transported by a trailer. The entire MSS is manned by two operators and can be easily set up within 30 minutes.
In the wake of recent terrorist attacks on USS Cole and French tanker Limburg by small vessels, the recognition for enhanced maritime security particularly through identifying and tracking of all vessels, has escalated significantly. A cost-effective and efficient tracking solution, Harbour Craft Identification & Monitoring System, enables authorities and agencies to identify, monitor and track vessels and harbour crafts around coastal waters.
Based on Global Positioning System (GPS) & General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technologies, the front-end transponder unit mounted onboard small vessels, send real-time information (e.g., craft ID, position, course, speed, etc.) to the monitoring centre via existing Telco shore-based infrastructures. The Harbour Craft Identification & Monitoring System empowers maritime and port authorities with greater real-time visibility over vessels, thereby enabling them to make better, more informed decisions faster for preventive measures and emergency response.
Where physical access is of critical concern to key installations such as border, immigration and custom checkpoints or areas with highly sensitive data within financial institutions and research laboratories, users can count on the 3D-Facial Recognition System, which uses one of the world’s most advanced 3D biometrics technology. Designed with advanced patented optical technology, structured light and algorithms, the 3D-Facial Recognition System performs real-time video face capture of three-dimensional images in a continuous range of angles. In comparison to other biometrics systems, it is non-invasive, requires neither contact or minimal subject co-operation as both the 3D imaging enrollment and recognition processes are fast and accurate. One key advantage of this system is that it allows for quick and seamless integration into existing physical access control applications and security solutions.
LORROS is an advanced state-of-the-art day and night, long-range detection,
tracking and observation system. It can be remotely controlled and can operate
24 hours continuously. The system can detect targets (static or mobile) at
up to 15km. The LORROS can be combined to work in tandem with radar systems
to provide a seamless command & control of borders and coastlines.
LORROS has gained extensive operational acceptance in the protection of border
and/or coastal assets by numerous defence (military & paramilitary) forces
worldwide.
The URALIS, an uncooled thermal imaging sighting system is developed locally using 320x240 microbolometer detector for enhanced resolution performance. It is lightweight and ergonomically designed for hand held as well as for mounting on different kinds of weapons and equipments using suitable adapters. Its primary applications are for observation and surveillance and for mounting as weapon sights on fixed and mobile platforms.
NEMIS is a true state-of-the-art, third generation cooled focal plane array
(FPA) thermal imaging camera. It offers compactness with performance unmatched
in its class.
Attention to ergonomic details and operating performance have resulted in a
thermal imaging camera That offers cost effective solution to both military
and para-military customers.
The ADIR is an automated intrusion detection system using state of the art uncooled TI detector. The system is designed to work 24-hrs a day under all weather conditions. The system offers all round panoramic detection warning and tracking capabilities. It generates a fresh thermal Image of its surrounding environment every few seconds. A remotely controlled digital recording and image playback allows the operator to review any automated lock-in intrusion incidents at the comfort of the control room.
The system can be adapted for heat detection applications in any large chemical or petrol-chemical plant. In addition, it can also be deployed for detection of hot spot or fire.
SECURNET ST8100 is a distributed intelligent supervisory control and data acquisition system used primarily to handle the security access control in buildings. DigiSAFE FaxCrypt?, a compact in-line secure facsimile encryptor that encrypts fax documents before transmission. The fax documents are stored in Secure Mailboxes when the recipient receives them, and will be printed only after successful authentication by the intended recipient. Using a smartcard as an authentication token, it enforces strong user-identification authentication on both the transmitting and receiving parties.
DIGISAFE KeyCrypt? is a multi-functional USB token for logical and physical access. It is a key-size authentication device that acts as your security key to office premises, business applications and data files, by incorporating RFID for door access, cryptographic functions for it security and mass storage for file storage in a single portable device.
DigiSAFE DiskCrypt is a 2.5” encrypted hard disk for notebook users. It encrypts every byte and sector of data that is written into the hard disk. By encrypting every byte and sector, DiskCrypt is operating system independent and does not require any software drivers or upgrades. It also encrypts all temporary files, as well as areas that would normally be left in “clear” by software encryption products. Encryption and decryption occurs transparently without any performance degradation. Users simply use their laptops as usual with assurance that their data is fully protected if the laptops are stolen or lost.
UScanTEQ is specially designed to enable security officers at the sentry or security post to scrutinise the under-carriages of approaching vehicles for suspicious items such as explosive devices, contrabands, etc. It consists of an Observation Unit and a Receiving Station. The observation unit contains built in camera(s) and lights, able to screen the width of any vehicle. The image of the entire undercarriage of the vehicle is captured as its goes over the Observation Unit. The system can either be surface mounted or embedded into the ground. A loop detector is used to detect the incoming vehicle and to send the signal to activate the system. The Receiving Station comprises a processor and a LCD monitor that allows security officers to inspect, record and manage the images effortlessly. A high resolution, real time image of the vehicle’s undercarriage appears on a General User Interface (GUI) for inspection within 2 seconds. The user-friendly interface allows users to compare historical and recent undercarriage images manually for any discrepancy. Users have a choice of either automatic or manual data input for information such as the vehicle license plate number, date and time of image captured. It also allows users to do an easy search or quick print of required image.
The road blockers and bollards are designed to physically stop vehicles from gaining unauthorised entry to or exit from a building compound. They are usually imposing enough to deter ramming. The products are designed to withstand high impact and has tensile strengths to ensure that terrorists will be kept at bay when, and if, any attacks happen. Our assets can therefore be fully protected and/or damage contained.
A turnstile is commonly used to control access in one or both directions
and usually operated through card access, token acceptance, biometrics reader,
etc for the restricted area under surveillance.
The Hand Vascular Pattern Recognition System (VP-II) is the result of several
years of research & development. It is the first commercialised Vascular
Pattern Recognition Technology. The technology utilises state-of-art recognition
algorithm based on veins and capillaries found on the back of the human hand.
It verifies the user’s hand vascular pattern captured on a contactless
sensor and an infrared camera at 0.4sec verification speed. Duplication of
Vascular Pattern is almost impossible.
This system detects all ferrous and non-ferrous guns and sizable metal objects that can be used as weapons. Most of the harmless metal objects such as cellular phones, keys, coins, necklaces and pens would not be detected.
The Swiftlet Flyaway Satellite Communication System is a comprehensive, compact and transportable Satellite communication solution, providing seamless transfer of data, images, videos and telephony.
