Singapore, 8 March 2005 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) today announced that its subsidiary, Agilis Communication Technologies Pte Ltd (Agilis), has been awarded a contract by Israel Aircraft Industries–ELTA Systems Ltd (ELTA) to supply a US$1.038 million (approximately S$1.709 million) VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) Network System. ST Electronics is the electronics arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering).
Agilis was awarded the contract after a process of intense competition with international players and extensive qualification by ELTA. This is another international success for Agilis’ VSAT Network Solution which is integrated with its Flexi-View Network Management System launched in June 2004. The VSAT and Network Management System will be used to form a high-speed network to enable transmission of battlefield information in realtime to fixed and mobile installations over widely dispersed geographical locations. ELTA will integrate this solution into their system for use in various military applications. The project is expected to be completed in early 2006.
