Singapore, 13 January 2005 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) has, through ST Education & Training Private Limited (STET), incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, STET Maritime Education Pte Ltd (STET Maritime). STET is a 70% owned subsidiary of ST Training & Simulation Pte Ltd (STTS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ST Electronics.
STET Maritime is incorporated with an authorised capital of S$2,000,000 and an initial paid up capital of S$500,000. STET is a strategic training partner of the Republic of Singapore Navy and a leading service provider in Maritime Security in this region. With the setting up of STET Maritime, STET will extend its training services to include education and training for both mandatory and non-mandatory Merchant Marine courses as legislated by the International Maritime Organisation.

ST Electronics is the electronics arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering). The incorporation of STET Maritime is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.
