Richardson, Texas, USA, 6 December 2004 — Intelect Technologies, Inc. launches its new enhanced and improved the OmniLYNX system. The OmniLYNX line modules OL-2488E and OL-600E and OL-155 have been enhanced over the past three years as a result of a joint venture with Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited.
The OmniLYNX system has been used in installations such as the Alaskan Pipeline, New York Airports, New Jersey Train System; Texas, Minnesota, and Ohio DOT Highways, Illinois Tollway and the Singapore and Taipei rail systems. During Hurricane Frances in September 2004, OmniLYNX, proved itself as a redundant SONET/SDH system and continued to provide uninterrupted communications for emergency operations at Indian River County in Florida following a fallen power line and broken fiber optic cable.
Enhanced OmniLYNX is offered in two product configurations, the OL-2488E and
OL-600E as well as the original OL-155.
Both network architectures offer 64 Kbps channel granularity eliminating access
multiplexers and most cross-connect equipment from the user’s network.
Both the OLM-2488 Controller and the OLM-622 Controller modules combine all common card functions into a single slot, including extensive on-board monitoring. OmniLYNX networks require only two common cards for redundant network operation.
