SINGAPORE, 14 June 2004 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) will exhibit encryption mobile phones to address secured wireless communications needs.
The Enigma mobile phones offer end-to end encryption for highly secured mobile communications. ST Electronics will showcase the Enigma, a high-end, end-to-end encryption mobile phone which is targeted at senior public officials and CEOs of big corporations. Enigma offers RSA, public-private key pairs which are generated within ultra secure environment on 128 bit key length for voice en/decryption. The private key is stored in the ultra secure cryptro smart card and the generation of session key is performed inside the secure crypto Smart Card thus making communications highly secured.
For the commercial market, the Mirage which is a 56 bit key length for voice encryption mobile phone will soon be available. Affordably priced at S$1800, it is targeted at senior executives of corporations. The Mirage is a dual-band phone (900/1800 Mhz) which is attractively packaged with an TFT LCD screen delivering 65k colour 128x160 dots resolutions and offering 40 Polyphonic Melody/Ring Tone. ST Electronics, together with its business partners, will have worldwide exclusive distribution rights for the Mirage and will showcase it at CommunicAsia 2004.
