Agilis Communication Technologies Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited, launches its Agilis-Flexi View Enhanced Network Management System at CommunicAsia 2004.
Agilis Communication Technologies presents an Enhanced Network Management System (NMS) that allows total convergence and integrated solution for monitoring, management and control of all types of network, system and equipment.
The Agilis-Flexi View completes the NMS solution combining multiple types of hybrid and network elements that operate with any standard or non-standard interface and third party products in the telecommunications, Broadcast, CaTV, manufacturing, service companies, private entities and other industries.
The NMS has the ability to manage devices and networks on a periodic basis, issuing commands, receiving and processing information and can itself be managed and act as an agent in control of the system.
The flexibility of the system expands the boundaries to provide one integrated management system that will lead and give emphasis to the vital importance of the network and system operations.
The Agilis-Flexi View system architecture is modular and multi-tiered and load shares processes while increasing the performance from various types of access. It resides in a single or multiple servers that can be open to unlimited users through an easy to use web-based and secured Internet connection. The passive type architecture and functionality of the system facilitates a non-disruptive operation and other procedures.
Agilis-Flexi View utilises Element Management System to implement FCAPS (Fault, Configurations, Accounting, Performance and Security) Administration and management standard.
Fault Management
Agilis-Flexi View offers fully and semi automatic reporting of events,
services, problems identification, audible and visual alarms and faults logging
and acknowledgement. It provides configurable ping utility to help users test
connectivity of nodes and any IP elements.
In addition, a special window opens for trouble-shooting or checklist guide for all system and network configurations at fault.
It also features an optional help window that presents the manual and video clip diagram of the system and network fault.
The system includes Alarms Management and Status Notification that logs reports, broadcast alarms and displays pop-ups. It also provides report summaries and events logs for historical analysis and documentation. There is also an option that sends SMS messages to particular persons or respective users to notify them of the alarm condition. A special feature is the online/offline notification that displays all the users connected to the Agilis-Flex View and information of all actions performed by any operator via the web using the chat room window for all users.
Configuration Management
Profile Management – This is a database of all configuration profiles
that also acts as a self-healing and recovery type process to download or correct
the system and network configuration.
It features a multi-level and in-depth network element configuration and GUI layers including system specifications and remarks for rigid management, monitoring and detail technical analysis of network set-up and element.
A time oriented module for scheduling to switch or transfer of profile configuration during off peak periods and emergency is also included.
Accounting
This feature manages the network resource usage and provides efficient bandwidth
management. It tracks the satellite resources (bandwidth and power) used
in a satellite network and allocates satellite resources to the transmitters
in the network to meet user requirements.
Performance Management
With this capability, it provides traffic and performance with real-time
monitoring and reporting. It provides the ability to monitor network and system
bandwidth, link, congestion, power, characteristic, threshold, quality and availability.
This provides users with comprehensive events database and graphical reports
and analysis on the actual performance, usage and parameters.
Security Management
The system facilitates multi-Level access control management by the Administrator.
A 128-bit encryption using SSL secures the data transfer between WEB server
and web clients while a special inactivity logout is also added for infield
security over logged in system. It implements limitations between networks
by imposing hierarchical restrictions based on user profiles and user locations.
